Kenzie: First Father’s Day

by Camille Diamzon

Ramon got to celebrate his very first Father’s Day this year and our dad’s get to celebrate being grandpas for the first time! Lucky guys!

As much as we wanted to do something as a family of three for the first time, we couldn’t exclude our immediate family members who have come to love Kenzie to bits! We also have family from overseas visiting for my sister’s wedding. The more, the merrier!

Our choices for places are based on easy of parking, ease of pushing the pram to the restaurant and ease of fitting a pram in he restaurant without obstructing staff and customers. We settled on a local Chinese Restaurant; Eaton Gardens.

I’m on a very strict budget as I’m currently not working while trying to build an empire as a “momtrepreneur” to provide for my family and our future (aka no income and whatever does come in is invested back into the business) so finding a sentimental gift proved difficult. I have been a fan of personalisation and I was looking for a bargain and luckily for me, Kikki.K has come out with a monogram range and they were offering FREE monogram services for a limited time. This would same me between $10-$20 per piece. I also found that they were 60-80% cheaper than other leather monogram services. I also bought the cutest personalised shirt from Bright Star Kids.

Parenthood has been so challenging and has tested us time and time again. Ramon is a natural father. He’s a supportive husband and I could not have recovered from the birth without him. We are both learning how to parent and although we are distressed at times, our daughter and one and only child is our priority and we only want what’s best for her.

I couldn’t have asked for a better father figure for Kenzie. She doesn’t know how lucky she is to have such a loving and protective father. I see so much of ourselves in Kenzie and hope she’ll inherit his heart.
