IT’S A GIRL!
We have been anxiously waiting for our 25 week 3D scan (performed by the lovely people at Baby Glimpse) to ensure the gender of our baby. Although it’s not 100% accurate, we are confident with their assessment. At our 20 week morphology scan, our sonographer was hesitant to advise the gender of our baby and after reading countless articles, flyers, books and an encyclopaedia, waiting till 25 weeks would give you a much more accurate reading.
We are so excited that we can finally buy gender specific items for our baby. Do you know hard it is to find gender-neutral items without breaking the bank? Almost everything was either pink or blue!
We decided not to do the ever-so-popular Gender Reveal that has been trending but decided to “pink-it-up” at our Baby Shower hosted by my parents.
We have decided on the name; Mackenzie Harper, Kenzie for short.

Thanks to the countless hours I spent watching YouTube videos, we managed to DIY the desert table and decorations on the day. Links to videos and blogs I visited listed above.
I was 27 weeks pregnant during our Baby Shower and would recommend that mothers do their Baby Showers around the 25 week to 30 week mark. I found that past the 30 week mark, I had limited movement (beached on the bed, couldn’t bend over, couldn’t get up if I squatted etc).
We decided against Baby Shower Games. As much as they are fun to host and watch, we had a “Couple’s Baby Shower” where both men, women (and children) were in attendance and all we wanted to do was catch up with everyone before the baby arrived. We wouldn’t have changed what we did and thoroughly enjoyed our time.
We are so blessed and surrounded by incredible family and friends. We have been so spoiled and I can’t believe how supportive everyone has been. I adore how well our family and friends know us and cannot believe they will get to meet baby Kenzie in the coming weeks.
