Week three started off rough with Kenzie settled during the day and unsettled during the early hours of the night. Google can only help you so much! bathroom breaks and eating have become luxuries lately but we’ve been told time and time again that we’ll miss this period in their life, the “easy” period.
So far, here is her tally:
Nappy Changes: 55
Sleep: 91 hours
Feeds: 129
Kenzie now successfully takes the bottle and finally settles and will sleep hours and hours and hours! We just need to find a dummy that is shaped like Ramon’s pinky finger to help soothe her. She absolutely hates Philips Avent (great for us because they are overpriced) and spits it out every time and cries with a vengeance!
I was finally able to leave Kenzie for 7 hours with Ramon which was great! As I’m exclusively breastfeeding, I didn’t want to feel “trapped” because of the attachment to the breast.
We attempted the crib this week. The weather hasn’t been in our side with it being winter and we think Kenzie might feel too cold in such a large crib.
We finally got the courage to book an ultrasound for Kenzie’s clicky hip. It’s has me worried sick and have accepted that if she needs a brace, she’ll get a brace! Luckily the ultrasound result came out all normal! THANK GOD!
Ramon and I vowed that we’d stay home for Kenzie’s first six weeks (until she received her vaccinations) but we are suffering from cabin fever. Our second attempt at taking Kenzie to the mall was a success! She was a complete dream as she was sleeping the whole time. Our third attempt had her quote unsettled but as soon as we took her out of her pram, she loved serving her new surroundings and couldn’t stop looking around.
Father’s Day is here and it is Ramon’s first Father’s Day celebration. It’s been so difficult finding a way to celebrate (especially on little to no budget). After nutting out what to do, my mother suggested we celebrate as a whole family over Boodle Fight.
Kenzie’s almost one month old now! Time has flown by so quickly! I feel like she was only just kicking in my belly yesterday. And although my birthing story was extremely excruciatingly painful, I understand why families want more than one baby. They are so precious!
