Kenzie is officially ONE MONTH old! When the main advice you are given is to cherish the early newborn moments, they weren’t kidding! I feel like the time has flown by far too quickly.
So far, here is her tally:
Nappy Changes: 63
Sleep: 95 hours
Feeds: 120
Kenzie is comfortable in her crib, loving the bottle, accepts her dummy and almost on a sleep schedule. Do we feel like we’re winning in our first month of parenting? HELL NO! It’s been a mission and some moments make you think “where did I go wrong? why are you still crying?” And tested our relationship but it’s been a blessing and a learning curve for all of us. She cries randomly, she has trouble passing wind, gas and poop and she bas
She finally fits her newborn (0000) size clothes with a little bit of room to move and she is getting heavier and bigger by the day! It’s been amazing to watch how quickly she grows.
After grunts, cries and moans, Kenzie is finally getting used to her bowel movements. Her farts are so smelly and her burps sound like her dad’s! It’s hilarious and entertaining and makes me giggle every time she lets one rip.
In another two weeks, she will be having her first lot of vaccinations and I’m dreading the thought of her being pricked and prodded again. She’s been such a trooper with needles (especially during her blood tests while she had jaundice), I really hope we’ll be able to settle her.
Sleep deprivation is real. Kenzie is feeding every 1-2 hours for 15-20 minutes and I read that it’s because of a growth spurt. We don’t have a baby scale but she’s almost outgrown her newborn nappies so we’re using that as an indicator that she’s growing!
Week 5, here we come!
